Okima

Every last Friday of the month

I’m a DJ and producer known as Okima, currently working on my PhD at the VUB. I’m based near Vilvoorde but have a strong connection with the lovely city of Brussels. Electronic music has always been a huge part of my life. From listening to Daft Punk’s “Homework” as a kiddo to figuring out how to produce with Ableton. As a molecular and cellular biologist, I’m used to experimenting to find novel therapies for genetic diseases. My passion for electronic music and experimenting is also evident in my sets. These include a healthy dose of club-based genres like breaks, electro, and 4x4 killers. All in all, an eclectic mix of different genres and surprising combinations. With my residency, I hope to connect more with the fast-evolving music and cultural community. With my residency sets, I aim to prepare listeners for an energetic night in the club, to relieve them from stress, or simply to enjoy.
